I think to say, "If I can't do this, I can just go on to something else," that's just guarding yourself. I feel like this has been the one outlet for extreme emotion. A lot of times if you don't have something to say but you just feel something, it's a good thing to do. You don't have to sit in front of a notebook and say, "What is this that's going on?" It's like running, exertion. You push yourself to a point then you get to clear your head. That's why I do it? I have to keep doing it. I don't know what I would do with myself if I wasn't an actor of my life.














Everyone now, they look back and they're like, "What happened to your sweet image that you used to be?" And I'm like, then when you came out you thought I was too provocative. It's like you can never win. No matter what you do, at the end of the day you can't please everybody, you know. I'm not here to please...

You know, I have such an appreciation for where I am in my life because I've struggled and because I couldn't get signed, and because I couldn't get played … There are times when it can be a lot to deal with but always when I get up in the morning I try to find that very joyful place that reminds me that I would die if someone took it all away. If someone did that I wouldn't be a person anymore.

I think with anybody who’s doing well in the public eye or whatever, there’s always gonna be a shift because people don’t wanna see somebody happy all the time. And they’re gonna try to take shots at you. People are mean, they try to tumble you down. They love to see you cry and mourn. I guess people are really born to be jealous and threat.
